Mooresville announces new town manager

Mooresville has named Randy Hemann its new town manager.

Current assistant manager for the City of High Point, Hemann will begin his work here on Sept. 16.

He has been with High Point since 2015 and spent time prior to that as manager of the City of Oxford. He has also held several positions leading economic and downtown redevelopment throughout North Carolina, according to a press release the town issued tonight after a closed session of Mooresville’s town board.

“Randy is a results-oriented leader who has spent his career serving and revitalizing communities,” said Mayor Miles Atkins. “He brings strong leadership, communication and organizational skills to this task. As a credentialed manager through the International City Managers Association, Randy has demonstrated his ability to lead, guide and inspire communities to achieve their best. We are looking forward to serving with him in Mooresville.”

Hemann replaces David Treme, who retired earlier this year. Deputy Town Manager Ryan Rase has been acting town manager in the meantime.

Hemann has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Marshall University and a master’s degree in public administration from East Carolina University. Married with one son, he enjoys outdoor activities, including fly-fishing, kayaking, camping and mountain biking.
