It’s like an olive branch. But it’s a 23-foot Christmas tree.
This week, Josh Graham and brother-in-law Garrett Deweese, owners of Josh’s Farmers Market, hauled the massive tree from a grower in West Jefferson, all the way down Main Street into Downtown Mooresville and to the corner of Main and McLelland Avenue, where the big blue “150” stands to commemorate the town’s 150th birthday this year.
Chris Carney is Mooresville’s next mayor by a landslide, collecting 3,617 total votes to Bobby Compton’s 1,592 in yesterday’s municipal election.
In Mooresville’s Wellesley neighborhood, spooky, scary skeletons are every child’s delight in the front yard of a home that bills itself “Nightmare Manor on Bushney Loop.”
Eddie Karriker and Frank Owens were the two top vote-getters in today’s primary race for at-large commissioner on Mooresville’s town board. This means the two men will advance to the general election on Nov. 7.
The town has consistently said the past year that it has treated Josh’s Farmers Market the same as it treats every other business in Mooresville.
